IN THE 1ST HALF OF 2023, OVER-THE-COUNTER PRICES FOR THE 3 MOST POPULAR ENERGY GRADES OF COAL ARE LOWER COMPARED TO 2022
The work on the formation of exchange price indicators for coal grades D and DG is also continuing
The wholesale (over-the-counter) prices for thermal coal formed from January 9 to July 10, 2023 are lower than the indicators of the same period in 2022.
The cost of D grade coal (long–flame) is 6.83 % lower than last year (decrease from 3,484 rubles to 3,245 rubles), SS grade (law caking) – by 22.24 % (from 6,227 rubles to 4,795 rubles), T grade (short flame) – by 27.17 % (from 8,643 rubles up to 6,295 rubles).
The authority also recalls that in November 2022, the Ministry of Justice of Russia registered an order on the approval of mandatory standards for the sale of coal grades D and DG on the stock exchange, and in February 2023, the first auction started. Companies that occupy a dominant position must sell at least 10 % of supplies to the domestic market within the framework of organized auctions.
The only company that reached this value in May and June is HC SDS-Ugol JSC. Now, within the framework of the Exchange Committee, work is being carried out with other organizations.
To date, over 76 thousand tons of D, DG and SS coal have been sold on the exchange.
