EXCHANGE COMMITTEE OF FAS RUSSIA APPROVED METHODS FOR CALCULATING PRICE INDICES FOR PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

They will become a part of the system of domestic indicators for key groups of goods

The elaboration is carried out in accordance with the "roadmap" for the development of exchange trading, which was approved by the directive of the Government of the Russian Federation.

The methods were presented by the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) at the meeting of the Exchange Committee.

Currently, the indicators being formed on the exchange cover all contracts for the supply of petroleum products.

The volume of exchange trading in petroleum products is more than 25 % of the supply to the domestic market.

It should be reminded that the need to create domestic indicators is related to the fact that until recently, Russian sites used foreign data, including foreign commodity indices. Domestic prices linked to the so-called "netbacks" create prerequisites for inflating prices for Russian producers and consumers. The formation of Russian indicators will ensure transparency and high-quality information and analytical support to all market participants, consumers, public and expert communities.
