FAS STRENGHTENS CONTROL OVER TARIFFS IN THE REGIONS

FAS has developed a draft decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, which will expand the scope of control activities and more effectively respond to unreasonable tariff increases

The document proposes to empower the Regional Offices of FAS Russia with powers for unscheduled on-site and documentary inspections. At the same time, the result of such an inspection and a decision on the application of administrative measures will continue to be taken by a special Commission of FAS Russia in order to form a uniform law enforcement practice.

In addition, the draft decree provides for changes to reduce the timing of the inspection, aimed at increasing the efficiency of the control measures. The general term is proposed to be reduced by 10 working days.

The measures taken are aimed at increasing control over the economic feasibility of tariffs.
