FAS HAS LAUNCHED INFORMATIONAL SEMINARS FOR MARKET PARTICIPANTS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF EXCHANGE TRADING

The first seminar took place on September 21, 2023 with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Altai Territory

The event was attended by representatives of regional authorities, agricultural organizations and small businesses of the Altai Territory, representatives of the National Commodity Exchange. The speakers were representatives of FAS Russia and the National Commodity Exchange.

During the seminar, market participants were informed on the adopted policy documents of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of development of exchange trading, aimed at expanding the range of agricultural products traded on the stock exchange, increasing the liquidity of such trades, as well as the formation of national price indicators for key agricultural products, one of the sources of information for the formation of which is the information provided to the exchange as part of the registration of over-the-counter transactions.

Market participants were also informed about the exchange products offered by the exchange for producers and consumers of agricultural products.

Besides, during the seminar, representatives of FAS Russia talked about the specifics of registering OTC contracts on the exchange, the subject of which is agricultural products. The procedure for registration of OTC contracts on the exchange is carried out in accordance with the Regulation approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation of May 31, 2023 No. 892.

With the support of the regional agribusiness authorities, FAS Russia plans to hold similar events for market participants in all subjects of the Russian Federation, which are the most significant for agricultural development. The knowledge gained at the seminars will allow businesses to use the exchange trading tool more effectively.
