FAS SENT LETTER TO VERTICALLY INTEGRATED AND INDEPENDENT GAS STATIONS ABOUT THE NEED TO REDUCE THE COST OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS SALES

05-10-2023 | 15:31

It is related to a decrease in the price of fuel on the stock exchange

FAS Russia and the regional offices of the authority continue control and supervisory actions in the small wholesale segment of petroleum products. The economic validity of the cost of small wholesale sales of fuel from oil depots is checked, as well as other components that are included in the final prices for consumers, including farmers.

Besides, the chain of pricing formation is analyzed from the purchase at the refinery to the sale to the consumer.

According to the results of the initial analysis, 6 cases were initiated in 5 regions on grounds of violation of the Law on Protection of Competition.

Also, FAS Russia sent a letter to all* vertically integrated and independent companies about the need to reduce the cost of selling fuel, taking into account the reduction in exchange (wholesale) prices for petroleum products and send information about the implementation of this measure to the authority.

In the absence of measures taken by organizations, the authority will consider them as signs of violation of antimonopoly legislation.
