COURT REJECTED APPEAL OF SVERDLOVSK REGIONAL ENERGY COMMISSION ON CANCELLATION OF FAS REMEDIES

FAS Russia ordered the regional tariff authority to review electricity tariffs for citizens for 2023

Earlier, FAS Russia found that the actions of the REC do not comply with the current legislation.

The authority received many complaints about high daily and peak electricity tariffs in the Sverdlovsk region. The authority conducted an inspection and found that the Regional Energy Commission had incorrectly set tariffs for the current year.

FAS Russia annulled the resolution* of the Sverdlovsk Regional Energy Commission and ordered the REC to reduce the daily and peak tariffs for electric energy for citizens until February 1, 2023. The requirement of the authority was fulfilled in due time.

The tariff regulatory authority tried to challenge the remedies of FAS Russia, but the courts of two instances supported the position of the authority.
