FAS: VOLUME OF COAL EXCHANGE TRADING REACHED 200 THOUSAND TONS IN THREE QUARTERS

13-10-2023 | 11:24

It was announced at the Russian Energy Week by Elena Tsyshevskaya, Head of the Department for Regulation over Fuel-and-Energy Complex and Сhemical Industry

She reminded that the exchange trading of D and DG grades of coal was launched in February 2023. FAS Russia also notes the interest of brown coal producers in the sale of this type of energy resource.

According to the authority, it is caused by the development of exchange trading in the Russian Federation and the formation of national indicators.

Elena Tsyshevskaya noted that coal is not only an export-oriented, but also a socially significant commodity, since heat and electricity are generated from coal in many regions of the country.

In order to control pricing, FAS Russia has sent recommendations to companies on the need to make changes to trade policies regarding the rejection of foreign indicators for the domestic market.

In turn, consumers should be guided by the national indicators of exchange trading when conducting procurement procedures.

In conclusion, Elena Tsyshevskaya stressed that the development of on-exchange trading and the expansion of participants will help to mitigate the risks of violations of antimonopoly legislation.
