REGIONAL OFFICES OF FAS RUSSIA ARE EMPOWERED TO CHECK TARIFFS

10-11-2023 | 11:58

Government of the Russian Federation has approved the relevant resolution

On behalf of FAS Russia, regional offices will be able to independently conduct unscheduled on-site and documentary inspections.

Such a measure will broaden the scope of monitoring and supervisory activities for a more effective response to unjustified tariff increases.

At the same time, the central office of FAS Russia will continue to issue an act based on the results of the audit and monitor its execution. It will maintain the uniformity of law enforcement practice and the level of control procedures. The powers to consider appeals in the field of state regulation of tariffs are still with the central office.

Besides, the document provides for a reduction in the timing of some control measures. It will increase the efficiency of the control measures carried out.

The measures taken are aimed at increasing control over the economic validity of tariffs.
