The authority sent a corresponding directive to the regional offices

It was announced by Karina Taukenova, Deputy Head of FAS Russia, at the Summit on the Interaction of Industry with Public Authorities within the framework of the Anniversary Week of Advertising in Moscow.

Advertising structures installed without the permission of local governments and without inclusion in the layout of advertising structures spoil the appearance of cities. In addition, their owners receive unreasonable advantages over the operators of legally installed advertising structures and do not send payments to the budget of municipalities.

It negatively affects the bidding process for the right to conclude contracts for the installation of advertising structures – it is difficult for advertising distributors to compete at auctions and determine the price per lot without having information about which structures are located nearby, how legitimate they are and whether they will be dismantled.

Besides, Karina Taukenova reported that the largest number of violations is established when advertising is distributed over telecommunication networks, as well as in advertising of financial services. At the same time, false advertising and misleading advertising are actually about 20 % of all violations.

Also, Deputy Head of FAS Russia recalled the work of the authority on amendments to advertising legislation. Earlier, the agency prepared amendments to the Law on Advertising to correct outdated norms based on proposals from the business and expert communities.
