CASSATION CONFIRMED THE LEGALITY OF FAS RUSSIA REMEDY IN RELATION TO REC OF THE SVERDLOVSK REGION

FAS Russia annulled the decision of the regional tariff authority and ordered to review electricity tariffs for citizens for 2023

REC of the Sverdlovsk region fulfilled the requirement on time and reduced daily and peak tariffs for electricity energy for citizens. But it did not agree with the decision and remedy of the FAS Russia and tried to challenge them.

The courts of three instances supported the position of the FAS.

Earlier, the FAS Russia received complaints from citizens of the Sverdlovsk region about high electricity tariffs.

FAS Russia conducted an inspection and found that the Regional Energy Commission had incorrectly set daily and peak tariffs for electric energy for citizens for 2023. FAS Russia annulled the resolution* of the regional tariff authority and ordered to reduce electricity tariffs.
