COURT UPHELD DECISIONS, ORDERS AND FINES OF FAS IN TOTAL AMOUNT OF 227 MILLION RUBLES FOR TWO PRODUCERS OF FLAT GLASS
It comes to Larta Glass Ryazan and Larta Glass Rostov companies
In 2022, the Authority recognized these organizations as violating antimonopoly legislation. The Moscow City Arbitration Court recognized the decisions, orders and fines against Larta Glass Ryazan and Larta Glass Rostov LLC as lawful. These companies, which occupy a dominant position in the flat glass market, increased the price of these products by 80-90% from January 2021 to July 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year.
The Authority’s analysis showed that the price of flat glass increased more rapidly with a slight increase in cost. These circumstances confirmed the establishment of a monopolistically high price.
Regulations were issued to companies aimed at ensuring competition. And as part of the administrative proceedings, fines were imposed, subsequently supported by the court: 113,305,691 rubles for Larta Glass Ryazan LLC and 113,792,020 rubles for Larta Glass Rostov LLC.
In compliance with the order, the companies have developed draft trade and sales policies aimed at increasing transparency of pricing and interaction with counterparties.
It should be noted that earlier the courts of two instances also upheld the fines of the Authority for similar violations in the flat glass market for companies of the Salavatsteklo group in the amount of 332 million rubles.
