Congratulations on your 20th anniversary.
March 9, 2004 is a special date in the history of the FAS Russia. On this day, the Federal Antimonopoly Service was founded by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. The Authority has always occupied one of the key places in the executive power system, carried out effective control over the activities of natural monopolies, execution of state defense order, compliance with advertising legislation, contributed to the formation of a competitive environment, a favorable business climate, and increased entrepreneurial activity in our country.
Today, the Service participates in solving state tasks aimed at economic growth and improving living standards of millions of citizens.
The Authority is actively involved in monitoring pricing in commodity markets, including socially significant products, vital and essential medicines. It allows protecting people from unscrupulous suppliers of goods and services. Due to your initiatives, measures are being taken to reduce the administrative burden on businesses, and support is being provided to representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. It is important that you continue to improve the antimonopoly legislation.
I am confident that the competence, responsibility, integrity and commitment of the highly professional staff of the Federal Antimonopoly Service will continue to be the key to success.
