FAS RUSSIA VALIDATES TARIFF SETTING IN THE FIELD OF MSW IN FAR EASTERN FEDERAL DISTRICT

Documentary inspections of authorities in 11 regions* are carried out to determine the validity of costs for solid municipal waste (MSW) management included in tariffs

The FAS Russia sent a corresponding instruction to its regional offices**. This allows to increase the coverage of control measures and improve their efficiency taking into account regional specifics.

The FAS Russia will determine the reliability and economic validity of the expenses for processing and transporting MSW included in the tariffs for 2024, as well as assess the subsidies allocated for the regulated type of activity. In case of violations, the FAS Russia will instruct regional tariff regulators to exclude economically unjustified costs from the tariffs.
