FAS DECISION HALVED THE PRICE ON LOCK-AND-SEAL DEVICES FOR END USERS
Courts of three instances confirmed legitimacy of the act of the Antimonopoly Service on the cartel case
FAS found that “STRAZH” Group” JSC, “SotekComCentre” Ltd., “KZMI” Trading House” Ltd. and “OTsV” CJSC violated the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.
The cartel resulted in fixing and maintaining prices for lock-and-seal devices used in rail transportation and in dividing the market.
FAS also found that “OTsV” CJSC violated the antimonopoly law by coordinating economic operations of the above economic entities.
On 12 March 2019, the Arbitration Court of the Moscow District confirmed legitimacy of the FAS decision.
“The decision of the antimonopoly body helped reduce purchasing prices for lock-and-seal devices for end customers by two and more times and became the factor of restoring competition on the market lock-and-seal devices. Defendants in the case are held administratively liable”, pointed out Head of the Anti-Cartel Department Andrey Tenishev.
