Alexei Matyukhin: FAS will continue the efforts on attracting investments in the housing & utilities sector
The Head of the Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for Control over Housing and Public Utilities,Alexei Matyukhin, made this statement at the IX Conference of Russian water and wastewater treatment plants that took place in Tomsk. His Deputy Alexander Fedyakov also took part in the event.
Tariff regulation was on the top of the agenda. Representatives of the antimonopoly authority presented their work done in a year.
Alexei Matyukhin outlined the efforts of the new FAS Expert Council on the Housing & Utilities Sector. The first session took place at the end of June, and a decision was made to form several Working Groups: on heating supply; water supply and drainage; waste treatment; apartment blocks management and housing and utility services. He called upon conference participants, should they be interested, to nominate their candidatures to be included in these Working Groups.

Conference of Russian water and wastewater treatment plants is the largest sectoral platform for joint discussions and devising efficient measures by the authorities and the expert community towards modernizing the utility complex of water supply and drainage as well as practical issues of applying the sectoral law in the regions of the Russian Federation. The annual event gets together representatives of federal, regional and municipal authorities, specialists of branch enterprises, and research and design institutes from all Federal Districts of the Russian Federation.
