FAS discusses expediency of price regulation on the market of security services
The focus of FAS meeting with representatives of the Federal National Guard Service of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardia), state-run and private companies was whether the government pricing regulation of the market of security services would protection of the interests of consumers and bona fide market participants.
The event attendees supported the idea of working out the mechanisms enabling more efficient protection of the interests of bona fide market players and consumers of security services. Nevertheless, they did not conclude if such mechanisms would require government regulation of prices, assuming that such decision-making requires a more detailed approach accounting for all opinions and proposals.
“The primary objective of the meeting was not to make the final decision on expediency of regulating prices for security services. Our goal is to reach an understanding whether the market of security services needs a government system of pricing regulation, and whether it would help protect the interests of bona fide market participants and increase the level of competition”, pointed out the Head of FAS Fiscal Control Department, Vladimir Mishelovin.
