The II All-Russian Academic “Olympic” Contest on antimonopoly regulation for school children
The contestants were 11-grade (graduation) students of secondary schools in the Russian Federation. They were asked to submit essays on a topic from the list published on the Contest web-site.
Their works focused on various issues of protecting and developing competitive environment and covered many areas of antimonopoly regulations: from the main stages of developing the antimonopoly law in Russia to social danger of concerted actions of tender bidders. It appeared that school children are most interested in the “Role of competition in the modern economy”.
11 participants from various cities and regions were recognized the winners.
All of them will be assigned additional scores or will be granted an opportunity for a face-to-face interview when enrolling to universities that supported the Contest for antimonopoly regulation for schoolchildren.
The objective of the Academic “Olympic” Contest was to increase the level of knowledge on antimonopoly regulation in the Russian Federation among schoolchildren and identify graduates who possess deeper knowledge in this field.
Head of FAS Public Relations Department, Irina Kashunina summed up the Contest results: “It is of strategic importance. At the stage of choosing a profession and determining their career, today’s schoolchildren already should understand the importance of observing the fair competition rules in any field of activity. We congratulate the winners and express enormous gratitude to all participants, their parents, the partner universities and representatives of the Contest Commission who evaluated the essays”.
FAS intends to organize the Academic Contest on antimonopoly regulation on a regular basis.
