Igor Artemiev discussed antimonopoly policy as a factor of economic development

Head of FAS outlined legal changes of the modern time

“20 years ago the market of legal services did not exist. Now it is fully formed and protects the rights of entrepreneurs, both large and small business”, pointed out Igor Artemiev at the Plenary session on “Legal environment as the key factor of economic growth. A case study: the Republic of Tatarstan” on 15 September 2017 at Kazan Legal 2017 International Forum.

Attendees discussed legislation and law enforcement as essential factors of competition for investors, further reforming and improving regulatory environment.

Head of FAS reminded: “Four packages of amendments to the antimonopoly law has been adopted that harmonized Russian norms with the best European practices and today Russia is in top-20 jurisdictions of the world”.

He also reminded about the adopted Standard for developing competition in the regions and sectoral government programmes and emphasized that Tatarstan is one of leaders in this field. Igor Artemiev added: “We will be increasingly applying robust measures to develop competition and legal support of these programmes is very important”.

Finally, Head of FAS expressed hope for further development of Russian economy and pointed out that “counsels and attorneys is the gold fund enabling us to do this job”.

The session was moderated by Dmitry Afanasiev, Chairman of the Partner Committee, “Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev & Partners” Law Offices.
