RUSSIAN DELEGATION DISCUSSED POSSIBLE AREAS OF COOPERATION BETWEEN RUSSIA AND CHINA
On 24 January 2018 a special Forum on energy resources cooperation under the “One Belt, One Road” initiative took place in Shanghai (China).
The Russian delegation was led by Deputy Head of FAS, Chairman of the Exchange Committee Anatoly Golomolzin. The delegation comprised representatives of FAS, SPIMEX, “Gazprom Neft”, “Tatneft” and “Transneft”, involving also representatives of Russian Trade Mission in China.
On 24 January, SPIMEX and Shanghai OTC Commodity Derivatives Association (SOCDA) signed a Protocol on Intent to facilitate development of cooperation between Chinese and Russian companies on the markets. The Protocol should encourage expansion of cooperation between Chinese and Russian companies on the energy markets.
SPIMEX President Alexei Rybnikov informed the Forum attendees about exchange operations on the petrochemicals and natural gas markets in the Russian Federation. Anatoly Golomolzin, in his turn, discussed the role of government regulators (FAS and the Bank of Russia) in these processes and possible lines of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.
In the afternoon the Russian delegation exchanged experiences with top executives of Shanghai Clearing House. Finally, the Russian delegation had a meeting with the leadership of Shanghai Futures Exchange. It was already the second meeting, continuing the talks opened in June 2017. The parties confirmed their mutual interests and outlined further steps of cooperation.
