FAS FINALIZED A NATIONAL ROAMING CASE AGAINST “TELE2”

12-04-2018 | 09:11

The Commission recognized the fact of fixing monopolistically high price for the communications services in national roaming and issued an order because the company was not willing to voluntarily eliminate the violation as the “Big Three” operators had done it earlier

In summer 2017, FAS opened cases against operators upon signs of violating Clause 1 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

The elements of violation includes: fixing and maintaining monopolistically high prices for communications services in national roaming and concluding inter-operator roaming agreements in the national roaming in the Russian Federation.

The FAS Commission in the part of subscriber roaming tariffs found that the company violated the antimonopoly law (Clause 1 Part 1 Article 10), which is administratively liable. The size of the fine will be known upon completing administratively proceedings.

Actions of “T2 Mobile” Ltd. in the course of inter-operator roaming in Russia do not constitute violations. The case in this part is terminated.
