ANDREY TSYGANOV: PREVENTATIVE MEASURES WILL HELP PSKOV REGION TO ACHIEVE RESULTS OUTLINED IN THE NATIONAL PLAN
Deputy Head of FAS discussed with Governor of the Pskov region the progress in fulfilling the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation on competition development
On 24 July 2019, Deputy Head of FAS, Andrey Tsyganov, and Governor of the Pskov region, Mikhail Vedernikov had a working meeting on pursuing the National Competition Development Plan in the region.
Deputy Head of FAS pointed out that “the obligations on competition development undertaken by the Pskov region are fulfilled and fulfilled successfully. The preventative measures outlined in the National Competition Development Plan will ultimately play a role in achieving the goal. May be next year rather that this, but the effect will definitely be achieved”.
Andrey Tsyganov drew attention of Mikhail Vedernikov to the fact of increased antimonopoly violations by the regional authorities:
“We are pleased that our regional Office works so actively. Such work with municipal authorities is necessary so that they do not repeat mistakes of the past and do not make mistakes similar to other regions of the Russian Federation”.
Mikhail Vedernikov said that “the statistical growth of the number of violations is a consequence of open work of the region: we started honest cleaning up, a lot is exposed, but we now understand our weak points. I am confident that joint efforts with the antimonopoly body, joint events, workshops, consultations will result in positive trends and reaching the National Plan’s targets in the Pskov region”.
Deputy Head of FAS emphasized the importance of exchanging experience between regions to share the best practices. “We visit other regions of Russia quite a lot and we see that there are very interesting practices designed to assist regional economy, and facilitate its harmonious development, making sure that there are sufficient workforce to fulfill National projects, possibilities to pay comparable wages and salaries, knowledge on the methods supporting high-technology production, etc. All these practices are already developed and available, it is simply necessary to share such experiences”.
Finally, Mikhail Vedernikov described the measures undertaken in the region in this field. The parties agreed to continue collaboration.
