Particularly in the electric power industry

On 8 November 2019, Head of FAS Department for Regulating the Electric Power Industry, Dmitry Vasiliev, took part in an offsite Round Table of the Energy Committee of the State Dima in Izhevsk.

“Digitalization is widespread and inevitable. It takes place in parallel with finding new solutions on old and new problems that we have faced in all spheres of the economy, particularly, the electric power industry”, saidDmitry Vasiliev.

In his opinion, digital solutions in tariff and antimonopoly regulation will increase their transparency and quality, ensure full data coverage, accelerate FAS reaction and prompt response.

“We expect that everybody will win from digitalization, first of all, consumers, because it will increase the quality of services and decrease or deter prices”, stated Head of FAS Department for Regulating the Electric Power Industry.

He pointed out that Udmurtia shows an interesting combination of several factors that should add value to the integrated power grid considerably: new digital solutions, consolidation of grid assets and costs reduction.

He explained that “both solutions lead to costs reduction, which means the burden upon consumers should be reduced”.

Summing up, Head of FAS Department for Regulating the Electric Power Industry emphasized that “new digital approaches should increase industry efficiency and competitiveness of Russia”.
