FAS ORDERED TNT TO ELIMINATE VIOLATIONS OF THE LAW ON ADVERTISING

The Authority is working comprehensively to protect citizens from excessive sound effects of advertising

Every year, FAS Russia receives numerous appeals and complaints from citizens about advertising. The Law on Advertising prohibits its excessive sound effects.
Advertising is prohibited in TV programs, the sound of which exceeds the average level of their volume.

On the TNT TV channel, the volume level of the announcement of the subsequent broadcast of the advertisement exceeded the average volume level of the sound of the TV program interrupted by it. In this regard, the Commission of FAS Russia found company TNT-TELESET guilty of violating of advertising legislation*.

The Authority ordered the TV channel to stop the violation. TNT must comply with the remedy within 30 days from the date of its receipt, otherwise the channel will be fined **.

It should be reminded that FAS Russia initiated a case against the TNT TV channel on the grounds of violation of advertising legislation in mid-January of this year.
