FAS INITIATED CASE AGAINST YANDEX LLC FOR VIOLATION OF ADVERTISING LEGISLATION

20-11-2023 | 12:00

The company distributed advertisement with false information about the service price

Earlier, a citizen complained to FAS Russia about advertisement of online subscription Yandex.Plus. In the subscription advertisement, the company indicated a lower price for the service with a discount of 44 %, which did not correspond to reality. The applicant was refused when trying to purchase a subscription at the specified price. Thus, consumers received incorrect information about the cost of the service.

The authority will evaluate Yandex advertising for violations of the law. If the company is found guilty, it faces liability in accordance with the Law on Advertising*.
