The bank did not specify essential conditions of transfers and payments in the advertisement, which misled consumers

Earlier, citizens complained to the FAS Russia about the advertising of the debit card of Alfa-Bank JSC, which was distributed on advertising structures, on the screen at a station in the Moscow Metro, as well as on radio stations and federal TV channels.

The advertisement provided attractive information for consumers that all transfers and debit card payments can be made free of charge. At the same time, the essential conditions for the limitations of such an option were not specified.

Thus, consumers received incomplete information about all the conditions for making transfers and payments that determine their cost.

The Commission of the FAS Russia has recognized the advertising of a debit card as inappropriate.* The Authority has issued a remedy to Alfa-Bank JSC to stop violating the Law on Advertising. The Bank must execute the order within 15 days from the date of receipt and report it to the Authority.

For violating the legislation on advertising, the bank faces a fine in accordance with the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.**
