OFAS fined “Kaspenergosbyt” 650,000 RUB for switching off light at a bread plant
On 31 August, Dagestan Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) issued a determination to fine “Kaspenergosbyt” Ltd. 650,000 RUB for violating the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.
Earlier the Antimonopoly Service initiated an antimonopoly case against the company upon signs of breaching Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” (abusing market dominance).
The case was opened upon a complaint from “Kaspiisky Bread Plant” Ltd. that on 16 November 2015 electric power supply to the plant had been terminated. The claimant also reported the plant did not have any debt for the consumed electric power. It was “Kaspenergosbyt” Ltd. that initiated the power cut-off.
Dagestan OFAS found that the company violated the antimonopoly and opened administrative proceedings against the power supplier for violating the law. As a result the company is fined 650,000 RUB.
