Nikita Poleschuk took part in discussing a new model of retail electric power market in Russia
On 14 October 2016, Deputy Head of FAS Department for Regulating the Electric Power Industry, Nikita Poleschuk took part in the III All-Russian Conference on the “Priorities of Market Electric Power Industry in Russia: Competitive Retail Market” in Pyatigorsk.
The Conference discussed the pressing issues of developing retail markets of electric power industry involving the authorities, infrastructure companies, energy companies, electric power consumers and the expert community.
Nikita Poleschuk took part in the work of a group of public agencies and infrastructure organizations that included discussions of the proposed concepts on improving retail markets in order to enhance the state of competition. During the discussion, FAS representative emphasized the need for comprehensive improvement of the model of wholesale and retail markets to achieve the set targets as well as the priority of ensuring the interests of electric power consumers as the main objective of the proposed concepts.
The goal of developing competition on the electric power markets is urgent and important for advancing the national economy. Together with our colleagues from the Ministry of Energy FAS is actively developing relevant proposals that will be presented by the end of the year”, said Nikita Poleschuk.
