Andrey Tsyganov held negotiations with UNCTAD during OECD Global Competition Forum
Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsyganov who leads the delegation of the antimonopoly body at a session of the Competition Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), held negotiations with Theresa Moreira, Head of UNCTAD Competition and Consumer Protection Branch.
Theresa Moreira confirmed the readiness of UNCTAD representatives, particularly, Director of UNCTAD Division on International Trade in Goods and Services, Guillermo Valles, to take part in the II International Research-to-Practice Conference on “Antimonopoly Policy: Science, Practice, Education” on 6-7 December 2016 in the “Skolkovo” Innovation Centre. It is expected that Guillermo Valles will be a guest speaker at the plenary session of FAS Conference.
During this event Russian and foreign participants will discuss the trends of developing competition and tariff policy, exchange international experience on implementing the modern approaches in the world enforcement practice and highlight the results of work and plans for developing research and educational activities in antimonopoly regulation.
Andrey Tsyganov and Theresa Moreira also discussed the Action Plan of UNCTAD Inter-Government Group of Competition Experts, in the work of which FAS is actively involved. The next Group meeting is scheduled for summer 2017. Participants will discuss tools of international cooperation between competition authorities for joint efforts against restrictive practices. The item is put on UNCTAD agenda upon a FAS initiative.
