Dmitry Vasiliev took part in a Round Table at the Energy Committee of the State Duma
On 20 February 2017, Head of FAS Department for Control over Electric Power Industry, Dmitry Vasiliev took part in a Round Table at the Energy Committee of the State Duma.
The Round Table discussed the current state of the central and distributed energy engineering in Russia as well as the need to improve the regulatory framework to enable their harmonious coexistence. Participants emphasized the need for a more detailed legal description of the general conditions of small-scale power generation performance.
In his turn, Dmitry Vasiliev pointed out that distributed energy generation is being developed at higher rates than the centralized one.
“More dynamic development of distributed energy generation is a modern trend determined by technological and economic changes”, continued FAS representative. To devise new approaches in government regulation that would be most suitable for the changing industry structure, it is important to already now understand clearly the place of distributed power generation, the role and the rules of its functioning and, most essential, how it will influence the historically built large-scale and centralized energy generation”.
