In November 2016 FAS held “Google Inc.” administratively liable and fined the company 500,000 RUB

On 6 March 2017, the 9th Arbitration Appeal Court confirmed legitimacy of the fine upon “Google Inc.” FAS issued injunctions to hold “Google Inc.” and “Google Ireland Limited” administratively liable for failure to execute FAS injunctions. Each company had to pay 500,000 RUB.

“Google Inc.” filed a lawsuit to Moscow Arbitration Court challenging the half-a-million fine. The Court of First Instance and the Appeal Court confirmed legitimacy of the imposed fine.

On 18 September 2015, FAS found that “Google Inc”, “Google Ireland Ltd.” violated the antimonopoly law by abusing dominance (Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”) and requested to eliminate the violation. The company disagreed with the decision of the antimonopoly authority and filed a claim. The Court of First Instance and the Appeal Court supported FAS conclusions. The Antimonopoly Service imposed a 438 mil RUB fine for committing the violation.

The hearing on a similar fine upon “Google Ireland Limited” is scheduled at Moscow Arbitration Court on 16 March 2017.
