FAS and Norway Competition Authority are getting ready to sign a document on cooperation
The official signing of the document by the parties is expected already this year
On 22 June 2017, during a visit to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris to take part in the sessions of OECD Competition Committee and its Working Groups, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsyganov held talks with a delegation of Norway Competition Authority.
The parties discussed the current status of preparation to signing a Memorandum of Understanding between FAS and Norway Competition Authority - Konkurransetilsynet.
The bodies have accumulated significant experience of practical cooperation, particularly, under the frame of FAS investigating a cartel on the market of supplies of salmon from Norway in 2014. The total sum of the fines imposed upon the cartel participants was 218 million RUB.
The parties discussed possibilities for continuing bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in different formats.
Head of FAS Department for International Economic Cooperation, Lesya Davydova, stated: “It is expected that the Memorandum of Understanding between FAS and Konkurransetilsynet will open additional possibilities of future cooperation between the bodies, particularly, for joint investigations”.
