THE FIRST INDUSTRIAL MARGARINE TRADES WERE HELD ON THE NATIONAL COMMODITY EXCHANGE

It became possible due to the remedy issued by the FAS Russia in relation to the Rusagro Group of Companies in 2023

Earlier, the Authority issued the remedy to the Rusagro Group based on the results of consideration of a petition for approval of a transaction for the purchase of assets in the margarine market. As part of its execution, for 5 years the company will sell at least 10 % percent of the sales of industrial margarine in the domestic market over the past year on stock exchanges.

In January 2024, the first trades of industrial margarine were held on the National Commodity Exchange. In total, 40 tons of products worth 4.1 million rubles were sold.

Auctions will be held on a regular basis, at least 2 times a week. At the same time, the minimum lot size is 5 tons.

Tenders are held in the mode of commodity auctions. Their feature is low entry barriers, which helps to expand the list of auction participants.

Implementation of this initiative will ensure the liquidity of margarine exchange trading, the results of which can form the basis for formation of a representative stock index for this product.
