Dmitry Vasiliev: the modern world trends can impact specifics of performance of the entire energy market
On-site sources of electric power generation, electric power storage, smart grids and real-time demand control systems for electric power prices, developing e-transport, and constantly improving green energy technologies - all these novelties were discussed at a jubilee Energy Investments and Regulation Conference of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) on 17-18 October 2016 in Bratislava (Slovakia).
The Head of FAS Department for Regulating the Electric Power Industry, Dmitry Vasiliev, who was a speaker at the Conference, pointed out the increased share of generating facilities that use renewable energy sources on the market of electric power generation, and shared specifics of the performance of such producers on the wholesale and retail markets.
Experts discussed energy and investment prospects in Slovakia, paying special attention to the regulatory practice that supports the Common Energy Market in the European Union.
Also, as an important regional initiative in the process of establishing common European Energy Market, the focus is on cooperation within the Vyshegrad Four (Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic) and the role of regulators and market participants in building up the EU Common Energy Market.
