Belarus plans to use Russian experience of antimonopoly regulation in health care
Belarus antimonopoly officers underwent training at the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia)
For two days representatives of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) of the Republic of Belarus* studied FAS experience in analyzing the markets of medicinal drugs and medical products.
The staff members of FAS Department for Control over Social Sphere and Trade shared with their Belorussian colleagues the knowledge and skills gained in the course of several years on exposing, suppressing and investigating cases on violations of the antimonopoly law in the filed of health care.
Special attention was paid to studying FAS experience on proving unlawful actions (omissions) of both the authorities and economic entities, adversely affecting the state of competition on the market of medicinal drugs. FAS representatives also focused on judicial practice giving specific examples.
Head of FAS Department for Control over Social Sphere and Trade, Timophey Nizhegorodtsev pointed out during the meeting with the Belorussian colleagues: “It is essential for Russian antimonopoly body that our colleagues from Belarus adopted positive FAS experience in antimonopoly regulation over the pharmaceutical market as soon as possible because establishing and maintaining the common markets of the Eurasian Economic Union of medicinal drugs required common approaches to competition protection”.
MART delegation also took part in the 10th International Working Group for studying competition on the pharmaceutical market on 21 March 2017.
* The training was organized under the frame of the Memorandum on Understanding in the filed of competition policy between FAS and MART.
